Greens!

Hi again! I'm finally getting around to posting these images. I'm back-dating this post to June 5th to reflect when the pictures were taken. The first shows my Brussels sprouts and onions/garlic/shallots (front to back). I read that Brussels sprouts are much better from the garden than from the store - with any luck I'll find out!

I planted three six-packs of lettuce: esmeralda, romaine, and a salad mix. Esmeralda is meant for my lunch sandwiches. Last year my lettuce was predictably bitter by July, so I planted the bolt-resistant Esmeralda this year. The plants between each batch of lettuce are bell peppers - one each of red, orange, and yellow. They'll grow up as the lettuce is harvested.

The seedlings at the upper right are Swiss chard. It was a household hit last year, so I'm going from one plant to six!
